In exchange for your skills and valuable time, you are given the opportunity to work closely with Asian American women artists, AAWAA’s Board, and other strong leaders to gain perspective and experience in a non-profit arts organization and provide important support for the organization.

Here are some of the areas where we could use your skills and support and sample projects that you could work on:

Programming / Curatorial – submit a curatorial proposal to our Emerging Curators Program or help us program our next Speaker’s Bureau.

Production / Installation – help us put together and install our next art exhibition. AAWAA has exhibited in many spaces such as the de Young Museum, SOMArts Cultural Center, Arc Studios & Gallery, etc.

Event Planning / Staffing – with each exhibition and presentation, AAWAA needs assistance with receptions, artists talks, panels, readings, etc.

Marketing / Communications / Social Media – create publicity campaigns for online/social media for our art exhibits like A PLACE OF HER OWN or underCurrents & the Quest for Space.

Fundraising / Development – plan our next fundraising event or help us apply for grants that will support our programs.

Archives / Documentation – aid us archive our media (images, videos, essays, articles) to ensure the documentation of Asian American women artists for educational and historical purposes.
