Cheers to Muses Exhibition, Literary Reading, Artists Panel Discussion & Book Launch
June 1, 2007 - August 25, 2007

In conjunction with the publication of the anthology, Cheers to Muses: Contempoary Works by Asian American Women, AAWAA mounted a major exhibition of art and writing by contributors to the book at the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco and produced three auxiliary events: a reading, panel discussion and book launch.

The exhibit featured 120 works of art and writing by 35 visual and literary artists. Selecting multiple works of art by the artists, the curator was able to demonstrate the depth of the artists’ work. The exhibit is being co-sponsored by the Chinese Culture Center and the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center.

They Hold Up Half the Sky
June 1999

They Hold Up Half the Sky, comprising two major exhibitions, Bernice Bing: A Memorial Tribute and Retrospective, and Of Our Own Voice 1999, with related symposia and an opening night celebration, was a collaborative project of the Asian American Women Artists Association and SomArts in 1999. It was a featured event of the 1999 National Queer Arts Festival.
