AAWAA Managing Director's Visit to Sonoma County

A few weekends ago, AAWAA Managing Director, Diana Li, made a visit to Sonoma County.

There, she met with former Mayor and current Council Member Jack Ding, who offered a tour of the city's plaza and shared plans to honor the untold story of Chinese workers in Sonoma (see Ting Sonoma).

Later, Diana met up with some familiar faces to celebrate the release of Cantadora Wine’s new set featuring women doing extraordinary things, one of them being "The Dream Builder", Nancy Hom! Purchase a bottle with Nancy's label and 10% will go back to AAWAA.

Nancy was also nominated by A Place of Her Own Director, Cynthia Tom, who was featured as "The Healer" in Cantadora's first wine set in 2019.

The following day, Diana also got to meet Frieda Weinstein, a good friend of Bernice Bing. Frieda uncovered some of Bing's unseen work, including a fun calligraphy painting of her duck among other unique pieces you might get a chance to see in 2024...(hint, hint) more news on that to be released soon relating to AAWAA's 35th anniversary. Stay tuned!

You can also still see Bernice Bing’s work at the Asian Art Museum, now open through Dec. 4.
